We want to encourage each of you to be involved in your child's education at the middle school level. Many times parents' involvement drops at the middle school level, however, it has been proven that this is the most important time for you to be involved. The typical middle school student experiences many changes during these years and it's important for you to be their advocate, supporter and encourager! Please feel free to let us know what we can do to support your family.

Watch for more information on the newly formed, Mile High Parent Campaign.  This campaign is to promote, support, celebrate and increase sustained parent engagement in Denver Public Schools.  Watch for our link soon...

MOREY'S PARENT COUNCIL

Morey's Parent Council is made up of the chairs and co-chairs of each of our committees.  They meet periodically and provide support for our families, staff and students.  We have a lot of opportunities to volunteer.  The following committees make up our Parent Council for the 2008/2009 school year:

Grounds Committee

Hospitality/Teacher Appreciation

Clerical

Fundraising

Friends of Morey

Interacting with our Kids

SCHOOL WIDE PARENT MEETINGS:

Tuesday, September 9th  6:00-8:00 pm:  Back To School Night:  Come and meet your child's teachers, hear about Morey and meet the Morey staff.

Thursday, September 18th:  6:30-8:00 pm  This will be a Q & A with our principal and staff

Tuesday, October 21st:  6:30-8:00 pm  "What's Going on In There?"  Come and hear about the middle school student, how their brain functions and some of their unique characteristics that will help you understand and support your middle school student.  YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!
